Rules for the organisation of remote diploma exams
1. The MS Teams platform will be used to conduct diploma exams remotely.
2. The tools used to conduct the exam must allow for the control of the course of the exam and information security, including the privacy law of examiner and students.
3. The student’s identity is verified using the standard mechanism of logging in to the appropriate service (login and password). In the event of any doubts as to student’s identity, the lecturer may ask the student to provide the student record book or any other document with a photo. A student has to have his camera turned on throughout the whole exam.
4. In the event of problems with internet connection during the exam, the examiner may try to reconnect or repeat the exam on the same day or another day.
5. The rules for conducting the exam shall be individually adjusted to the students with special educational needs.
6. Rules for the organisation of remote diploma exams:
- in order to conduct diploma exams properly, it is necessary to use appropriate equipment (a computer or other device equipped with a microphone, speakers and a camera) enabling the transmission of audio and video;
- the dean determines the procedure for conducting the diploma exams, taking into account the field of study and applicable regulations. The procedure shall indicate the rules of procedure in emergency situations related to technical problems of the exam participants;
- in order to ensure data privacy and security in matters related to the diploma process, students submit the documents in electronic form via e-mail from the address registered in the USOS system;
- before being admitted to the diploma exam, the student has to submit a declaration of readiness to take the exam remotely, including the information that the student has an access to an Internet connection, has got the Office 365 account in the UŚ internet domain, has the appropriate equipment to take the exam and the student consents to record their exam;
- a dean or any person designated by him/her appoints the diploma exam committee and the head of the committee informs its members and the student about a date of the remote exam via USOS e-mail system.
7. The course of the diploma exam:
a) the exam shall take place in compliance with the following requirements:
- real-time transmission of the diploma exam between its participants;
- real-time communication where the participants may express themselves during the exam, while maintaining the necessary safety rules;
b) the head of the committee starts the exam committee online meeting and invites the student to be examined (this student shall not be a member of the diploma exam committee);
c) the exam shall be conducted in accordance with the rules for diploma exams of a given study programme;
d) at the end of the exam, the head of the committee informs about its results;
e) the report of the diploma exam is made in an electronic form. The head of the committee and its members immediately approve the report in APD system, which is equivalent to signing the report.
