Academic advancement
Due to the pandemic situation connected with SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infections and undertaken actions intended to reduce the virus spread, any university ceremonies, doctoral promotions and diploma awards have been suspended. Due to this, it is possible to collect the diploma individually in person, or by the person authorised in writing. Diplomas can be collected subject to sanitary regime in the Science Department (Rectorate of the University of Silesia, Katowice, ul. Bankowa 12, room 86).
There is also a possibility to have the diploma sent by post with acknowledgment of receipt free-of-charge. The interested party has to submit a relevant letter addressed to His Magnificence Rector of the University of Silesia in Katowice with a request for individual diploma issue. We recommend sending the scanned letter electronically.

It is recommended to send documentation addressed to Research Excellence Office by e-mail. This concerns in particular applications for individual diploma issue of doctoral or associate professor diploma, or notifications on award of doctoral or associate professor degree.
