Rules for conducting credits and exams remotely

Rules for conducting credits and exams remotely

1. The winter exam session is set for 1 February 2021-14 February 2021 and the retake session for 22 February 2021-15 March 2021 (in accordance with regulation on the organisation of the academic year 2020/2021).

2. Exams and credits are conducted remotely using the following IT tools:

1) MS Teams platform (and other tools available in Microsoft Office 365, including Skype);

2) Moodle platform.

3. The method of conducting examinations and credits should:

  • allow for verification of the expected learning outcomes;
  • not lead to lowering of requirements and ensure equal requirements for all students taking exams;
  • minimise the risk of students not taking the exam individually.

4. The student's identity is verified using a standard login mechanism for the appropriate platform (login and password). If there are doubts concerning the identity of a student, the lecturer may ask the student to turn the camera on and to present their student record book or another document that includes a photograph.

5. Written exams may be prepared in the following forms:

  • tests (quizzes) with multiple choice questions or open-ended questions;
  • open-ended problems or written assignments sent in the form of files. In this case, the content, the file naming pattern (e.g. module_student-record-book-number) as well as the file format and its maximum size should be specified.

6. When preparing a set of questions, in order to minimise the risk of cheating, you can:

  • create a larger pool of questions and pick sets randomly;
  • mix up the order in which questions appear;
  • set a time limit;
  • provide students with a password shortly before the exam begins.

7. Rules for conducting exams should be individually adjusted for students with special educational needs.
