Ladies and Gentlemen,
due to the radical increase in the number of confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infections in our Voivodeship, I decide to introduce temporarily stricter terms of work and education at the University of Silesia:
-
Security level 2
From 24 January, until further notice, the security level 2 (marked in orange) will be introduced, referred to in the ordinance of the Rector of the University of Silesia of 16 October 2020. Detailed information on the implemented solutions can be found on the website at https://us.edu.pl/uczelnia/status-zabezpieczen-covid-19/poziom-2.
-
classes
Until the end of the winter semester, classes will be conducted remotely, starting from:
-
- 21 January (Friday) in part-time studies,
- 24 January (Monday) in full-time studies.
Only classes that the dean of the faculty decides are necessary and possible to organise while maintaining sanitary safety may be conducted on-site.
-
exam session
The exam session in the winter semester will be conducted remotely, with the exception of exams for which there are special circumstances resulting from the specificity of the course. The decision to conduct selected exams in a remote form will be made by a dean after consultation with the Vice-Rector for Education and Students. Students will receive information on the exams that have to be conducted on-site from the dean's authorities no later than 25 January 2022.
-
non-academic employees
Pursuant to the rules in force at the COVID-19 security level 2, from 24 January remote work will be introduced for the majority of employees while providing work on-site to the extent necessary to maintain continuity of work in the units of the University of Silesia. The direct superior will decide on the organisation of work in the unit. The limits resulting from the terms of remote work, which were set out in the Rector's announcement of 1 December 2021, are temporarily abolished.
-
other activities
Events, mobility and organisational meetings that have been scheduled and announced can be conducted in a pre-arranged manner. Doubts and questions regarding the organisation of meetings can be consulted via the address: covid@us.edu.pl.
